WordPress at Boise State
WordPress is site management software that eases the process of website content publishing and administration, allowing people with little or no knowledge of HTML to contribute and edit information online.
WordPress sites use a single, standardized University template, providing a consistent, visible and recognizable identity as a vital part of the University’s mission.
How to Obtain a WordPress Site
Please use our 24/7 Help Desk Self Service system at http://support.boisestate.edu/ to submit a request for a new WordPress site.
Be sure to specify the name of the individual to be designated an administrator of the WordPress site.
Once an administrator has an account, that administrator can grant access to other employees. Rights can be limited to allow employees to submit unpublished content for review, edit content, or full rights can be granted to control most major aspects of a WordPress site.
About WordPress Sites
WordPress sites may initially be created in a test environment, allowing you to build and configure your content, and test it out before it becomes a “live” site.
Training
A number of WordPress tutorials are available on this site. In addition Drop-in labs are scheduled in October and November.
Also, Boise State’s implementation of WordPress 3 uses standard settings and plugins. Additional nformation and training resources can be found at wordpress.org.
